abiummi.com http://blog.abiummi.com Sebuah blog keluarga 'young parent' Sun, 17 Aug 2008 03:37:11 +0000 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.6.1 en New member of the family http://blog.abiummi.com/new-member-of-the-family.html http://blog.abiummi.com/new-member-of-the-family.html#comments Sun, 17 Aug 2008 03:37:11 +0000 ummi http://blog.abiummi.com/?p=78 Assalamu’alaikum wrt wbt

It had been a long time that I sit and write something here.

Though people say not to stay up during ‘pantang’ period, because u shouldn’t strain ur eyes as the muscles are still weak due to the delivery effect on the nerves, here I am writing something to update this site.

I believe that I dont strain my eyes coz i got my sleep after maghrib just now and had my dinner @ 9pm…erk..don’t worry, I didn’t let my stomach empty. I know I really have to take care of my eating coz everything will affect my new cuttie princess… But, sometimes couldn’t really follow the schedule especially when u r tension..so, i changed it ;) my mom knows me better…

so, tonite i’m announcing here on the safe arrival of my new member of the family… have to wait for Abi to declare the final decision on the name…so, i just make a post of her pictures for now.

She’s alhamdulillah very much good girl, not to have so much hassle to handle (yet maybe ;) )… anyway, i REALLY believe that whatever given to everyone is THE BEST to capacity of the person. So, in my case, Allah knows that if she gives more test than what He gave me, i might not cope very well..So, thank you Allah…thank you Allah.

Pray for Allah’s blessings for my lil cute princess (with no name for the time being…)

Easy way to fold your t-shirt http://blog.abiummi.com/easy-way-to-fold-your-t-shirt.html http://blog.abiummi.com/easy-way-to-fold-your-t-shirt.html#comments Sat, 03 May 2008 23:42:36 +0000 ummi http://blog.abiummi.com/easy-way-to-fold-your-t-shirt.html Assalamualaikum wrt wbt

I found this while surfing the net,

It helps to simplify our t-shirt folding chores.

http://www.thehijabshop.com/useful/folding.php

I’ve tried it. It works. But haven’t tried with other kind of clothes.

p/s : Even husband can help to fold the shirts nicely before putting into the cupboard. A muslim house should have a neat surrounding though.

Amaani & Sofiyyah naik AirAsia http://blog.abiummi.com/amaani-sofiyyah-naik-airasia.html http://blog.abiummi.com/amaani-sofiyyah-naik-airasia.html#comments Sun, 23 Mar 2008 11:24:53 +0000 abi http://blog.abiummi.com/amaani-sofiyyah-naik-airasia.html 10-11Mac08-JBAirAsia_0008 10-11Mac08-JBAirAsia_0054 10-11Mac08-JBAirAsia_0015

So semuanya ada 3 tempat duduk sahaja.

Kalau lama mahu pening mencari idea melayan Amaani. Sebaiknya kalau perjalanan jauh, bawa buku kalau anak kita suka baca buku, mainan atau apa sahaja yang boeh dijadikan aktiviti sementara nak menunggu mereka terlelap ;)

The best career for a woman http://blog.abiummi.com/the-best-career-for-a-woman.html http://blog.abiummi.com/the-best-career-for-a-woman.html#comments Fri, 16 Nov 2007 10:38:56 +0000 ummi http://blog.abiummi.com/the-best-career-for-a-woman.html Taking a short break to release tension… maybe a short entry for breaking the long silence ;)

Nowadays people talk about career; what career you want to establish; how to achieve your dream career, and etc. Some woman not even think of marriage before they successfully establish their careers.

Everyone has their own choice of what to achieve in their life. But for me myself, now i am a wife and a mother to two toddlers. What is the best carrier for a woman like me? Home manager? Accountant? Teacher? Businesswoman?

When ummi meet businesswomen like ummi’s mother’s friend, almost all will advise on working, including ummi’s Mama.

What do you think?

The conflict of being a home-mother and a career-mother always fighting within me. At time, I feel guilty towards my little princesses.

These were our conversation with Amaani; my first daughter :

Ummi: “Ummi keje boleh?”(Can Ummi work?)

Amaani : “Ummi umah, Abi keje.” (Ummi at home, Abi go to work)

Abi : “Ummi nak buat ape kat umah” (What will Ummi do at home?)

Amaani : “Ummi tido”(Ummi sleep)…

hehe… if ever Ummi sleeps, she’ll be satisfied enough… as long as she can be with Ummi. Children are really honest!!

to be continued…

p/s : When I started to write on this topic, I remembered asking Abi for his opinion on a woman being a corporate lady. I’ll share it out with all of you so that it benefits all in the next entry.

And a short update.

Now Amaani is going to school. We don’t even have time to post it here. But she really enjoys school…yep..one of my senior staff said: “Isn’t it too early to send your daughter to school? She will have another 20 years to go…” I know that the 20 years will be coming down the line…but I have different opinion on going to school early. I myself was enrolled to standard 1 when I was 6 years old. There were 6 of us (Me, Dr. Elhuda, Miss Bash, Naimah, Ustazah Sri Wahyu, Miss Asma’) having the same condition; being the special girls to take SPRA (Sijil Penilaian Rendah Agama-can’t remember the old name during our time…Sijil what eh?) when we were already in Form 1 Secondary School-we were supposed to sit for the Exam in Standard 6 but were not qualified because we were 11 years old :P

Girls! Do u remember that 1 month intensive we’d gone thru before the exam? Sitting under the table in the school library to read the books, learning to write khat during the 1 month period, etc… Memories make me happy :)

Anyway, I’m flexible in my principle. If Amaani seems to be not well responding to school, I bet she have to stay at home with her Wan… The most important thing is that she likes what she is doing and I’m suppose to teach her that learning is not only in school. ok, take care to all…Allah Haafiz, wassalam

6. InsyaAllah Ramadhan seminggu lagi! Nak kena fikirkan sesuatu untuk anak-anak abi.

Allahumma ballighna ramadhan!

Latest Vocab Check for Amaani http://blog.abiummi.com/latest-vocab-check-for-amaani.html http://blog.abiummi.com/latest-vocab-check-for-amaani.html#comments Sat, 21 Jul 2007 14:32:36 +0000 ummi http://blog.abiummi.com/latest-vocab-check-for-amaani.html Today is 8th July 2007. Amaani turns 27 months old now.

Latest on her vocab development is that she can construct sentences on her own. But still the words mentioned is not as clear as an adult speakings. Ummi notices that she hasn’t master yet few words of ABC that involve fine touch of the lips, teeth and tounge.

Letter k sounds t

Letter c sounds chi

Letter w sounds … ( ummi don’t know )

While for a word of 2 syllables and involve certain letters that she can’t pronounce well yet, it may differ with the exact word pronounciation.

Example:

Word ‘pandai’ will sound as ‘panai’ or if ummi teach her slowly by one syllable after the other, it will sound as pan..nyai…or “paa dai” either one of the letters “n” or “d” will disappear from the word…hahaha…that’s the everyday medicine for ummi, to laugh over her unclear pronounciation. At first, as a perfectionist mother, I felt disappointed when she can’t really follow the slow pronounciation ummi taught. But as time passes, ummi knows that she is learning and is progressing well. So, ummi take it slowly for her, stage by stage and let her take her own time. Now ummi don’t pushes her to talk or do anything. And the result is a more relaxing relationship between us…

p/s: One of ummi’s freind asks ummi on Amaani’s current progres, and I said that : “Dah boleh borak2…”

For the passed few months, Amaani and Sofiyyah alternately accompanied ummi for meetings with the programme committee. Kecik2 lagi dah pegi meeting. Ummi was fortunate because, both of them were very good during the meetings; they either got slept, or play peacefully next to ummi… But, one thing in common for both of these ‘little committees’ were that they must go to grandaunt Norli’s toilet ;)…

Now, Ummi is thinking about the big day of this program… can these two sweet girls go with me? or where should ummi leave them to…(since abi had been provided with seat in the program for being supportive to his partner…hehe..almost every week have to send ummi & the princesses to wan’s house for evening meetings)
